What it looks like

No mockups — these are screenshots of the app running, with a real bag on the shelf and a real brew in progress.

A timer that knows the recipe

Most brew timers count seconds. CoffeX knows what should be happening at each of them — how much water should be on the scale, when to stir, when to wait.

Step one

Pick and rescale

Every recipe rescales to your dose with one slider. Water and step targets follow; timings stay, because they come from the brewer, not the amount of coffee.

Step two

Brew by the ring

One step at a time, with the target weight in front of you and a buzz when it changes. The countdown works off timestamps, so it stays honest after you lock the screen.

Step three

Rate it, fix it

Sour? Grind two clicks finer. Bitter? Three degrees cooler. The advice is specific to the method you just used, and it lands in your journal.

Also

Caffeine, counted

Milligrams per cup and per day, worked out from the method and the dose. The single most asked question about coffee, answered without a search.

Also

A shelf that knows its age

Days since roast, the 7-to-21-day window for filter, and grams subtracted automatically after each brew.

Also

Works with no signal

Everything runs on the phone. A cold brew started tonight is still counting tomorrow morning, app closed or not.

Coffee is older than the pour over

Most brewing apps stop at V60, AeroPress and espresso. CoffeX carries the traditions that most of the world actually drinks — with the proportions and the reasons behind them.

Seasonal drinks, refreshed remotely

In autumn the app leads with spiced caramel, gingerbread and maple cold brew. The selection is served as a small JSON file, so the line-up changes without a new release — and it falls back to a season picked on the device when there is no connection.

Spicy Caramel Latte
Caramel, cayenne, cinnamon and salt. The chilli lands after the sweetness and keeps the caramel from tasting flat.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Real pumpkin purée and maple, not syrup. Whisked, because purée settles.
Gingerbread Latte
Molasses rather than sugar — that is what makes it taste of gingerbread instead of ginger.
Maple Cinnamon Cold Brew
Autumn does not have to be hot. Maple holds up cold in a way caramel does not.

Nothing leaves your phone

There is no account, no login and no analytics. Your brews, ratings and coffee shelf are stored on the device and never uploaded. The app makes exactly one network request: it downloads the seasonal recipe list. Nothing is sent with it.
